One of those Moments

Today Sunday I had some extra time to create things. For me it's  about making something re-usable again but with a twist.
I have been given access to a very large Flee Market, bone and junk yard and it's all Free for the taking. Wow ! To much fun.
Recently I pick up one of those brass lamps that you can touch to change the light bulb brightness's.
I didn't know that what it was but found out later when I was re-wiring it. It was just a broken wire so a quick 5 minute fix.
I added a new cord and we had a working lamp.
Now should I paint it or leave it I was thinking. Then I had One of those Moments. I don't know what kind but I had one... ha. I remembered I had got an old Metal Waste paper basket a few weeks earlier for my new free junk spot.
I couldn't wait to get to the other part of the back yard and get it to see if this was the shade.
And BAM!!! it was perfect. The old Brass Lamp was Instantly turned into a Industrial Style Lamp Rust and all.
I don't think I'm going to paint it. But I never know.
Here are the pictures of it. I hope you like it as much as I do, But if not that's OK too.

Thanks for checking it out... Greg

Sunday Afternoon Repurposing Theropy

Here's a fun little project I did today.
Being it's Labor Day weekend I thought I would play around with these powered creamer bottles I have been saving for different things.

I usually use them for storing extra paint or nails or what ever I can fit into them to keep dry. They work great for holding a roll of string or twine.
Just cut off the bottom at the last rib install the roll of string, drill a hole in the top. Thread the string and it works great !

This time I used it in a different way.
A Reflector flower.
Just cut the top off with a razor knife, BE Careful !!!! Use shears if you like and cut the pedal to the shape you like.
Now add some self stick reflective tape and you will have a flower that glows at night when a car light hits it.

I sprayed it with some Orange Florescent paint in the center to add some color. Now I just have to put it on a stick and set it where I want and wait for the night.
 To Much Fun Sunday....
Thanks for stopping by..

Louvered Hall Tree

Hello,
Thanks for stopping by to see what I have just post on my Discover Repurposing site.
Today is Sunday and I work on a Louvered Hall Tree that has been in my thoughts for sometime, but it was timing as usual that takes over and I start finding parts that I like and getting  inspired to create.
So here's where I started...

I had two pair so I took one pair and joined them together so they would be flat and square as possible.

So then I laid it on my work table and installed some crown molding to the top and then finished my coffee.

Then I started the frame work for the top and the 2 legs I took from an old dinning room table. Using some nice oak scraps I made the frame and attached it to the Louvered doors using 3" star drive screws.
This Frame is strong.

Then I added a decorative piece under the top and a small piece of inside corner round to give it some depth and... I call it ......Fu Fu

Then I gave it a quick dry brushing with a mixture of different blue colors I had hanging aroundThanks for checking this post out. I appreciate you leaving comments if you have time.
